FAQ

So you may be wondering about a few things, well we might just have the answer.  Please check below for some of our frequently asked questions,  If they don't help then please don't hesitate to contact us and we will be more than happy to answer all your questions.

Q: How long will it take to groom my dog ?

A: Well on average it takes around 2 hours to do a full groom. T.his includes bathing, drying, grooming out and the trim or clip. We then check nails, ears  and carry out any other necessary requirements. However, if we are just doing a bath and dry or perhaps a puppy introduction then obviously this will not take as long and for very large breeds we may need longer but we will give you an estimate of time when we book you in..  So all in all allow yourself a couple of hours to browse round beautiful Arundel, we are happy to recommend local shops and cafes, restaurants.

Q: What to expect first visit and what is included in the cost of the groom ?

A: So this is a great question and one you should definitely ask.  We are more than happy to talk you through everything.
So when your dog arrives we will ask you to sign a consent form. We will also do a health card for your dog so we will ask about all your dogs healthcare and likes and dislikes.  So at first we give dogs a few minutes to settle down and sniff around a bit before we start. If they can have treats this is a great way for us to start a friendship.  We then begin by doing a full health check of  your dog so we can spot any problems we also check their skin and coat to make sure we use all the right things. In most cases first of all its bathing and drying then grooming out the coat making sure its fully prepared. We normally give the dog a little break after bathing and drying to have a drink and a toilet break.  We can then proceed with clipping and scissoring. When the clip is fully finished we will then do ear cleaning if needed and nail clipping and any other requirements.  It may be necessary in some cases to charge a little extra, for example if a coat is very matted or we need to use a flea treatment .

Q: What shampoo and products do you use ?

A: We are all for using the most natural products that we can. Not all products can be completely natural but where we can we use natural, so our dog deodorant spray is very natural using mostly dog safe aromatherapy blends and our finishing sprays consist mostly of coconut and olive oils, good for the coat and skin.  Our shampoo is something we have spent years searching to find the best and we are now very happy with what we use. It is a hypoallergenic and antibacterial shampoo that is fantastic on even the most sensitive of skin in .fact its designed for super sensitive skin and can even be used to treat red or irritated areas.  We do have smaller bottles of it for sale in the shop.

Q: How much does it cost ?

A: Our aim is to treat dogs individually therefore we try to be fair by keeping our prices appropriate to the individual so we are happy to give you an estimate for your dog feel free to ask us.  We are very competitive with our prices and believe in good fair value. We want you and your dog to be happy and being able to afford the right care for your dog on a regular basis is key.

QWhat if my dog is in season, has fleas or doesn't like other dogs

A:  To start with we do not let dogs meet or mix unless they are coming in together this is for safety and welfare and ensures your dog is protected this is a decision we made based on lots of experience.  If your dog is in season we don't mind its not a problem as long as they are healthy and happy to be groomed we will treat them with the care they need and they wont be at risk of being near any other dogs.  If your dog has fleas don't worry we have a very strict regime for keeping them away from other dogs and using separate equipment we also ensure that the area we work in is fully disinfected and flea sprayed.  Using a very high efficiency flea shampoo ensures that all the fleas on the dog are dealt with in the bath, our doggy deodorant is also a natural flea repellent which we use as a finishing spray, we do have to add on a small charge if we use flea shampoo as it is more expensive.
